New House Tour ~ Upstairs Kids Bathroom

Continuing on with our New House Tour, I will remind you that this home was staged for a fund raising tour by designers and furniture stores. A fee was charged to tour the beautiful home and the money went to The Advocacy Network for Children.

Knowing this, please focus on the finishes and house design. I will be featuring each room over the next several blogs because this home is HUGE and I just can't give you a quality tour without separating the rooms.

Let's go upstairs and tour the rooms up there.
Our sixth stop will be the Kids Bathroom.

New House Tour ~ Kitchen

Do you want a tour of a fabulously large home? It's newly built and
very lush and spacious. It was so exciting for me, to not only be great friends with the builder's sweet wife, but to be involved with choices and the process of the building.
Do you want to see a BeautiFul Kitchen? This home is now complete but The Advocacy Network for Children asked to have designers and furniture stores come in and decorate the house BEFORE they moved in and have a weekend-long house tour to raise funds. The builder and his wife agreed to this and what you will see is a staged home...NOT THEIR FURNISHINGS OR DECOR. It may not be your style and I know it was not all their style either, but a fund raising event. So I thought I would take the opportunity and snap pictures to show you this lovely home. You will see price tags and some things out of place, because I was there while it was being staged.

Knowing this, please focus on the finishes and design. I will be featuring each room over the next several blogs because this home is HUGE and I just can't give you a quality tour without separating the rooms.

Let's start the tour with the kitchen.

Bench Fetish

Some would say I have a chair fetish. Some would say I have a birdhouse fetish, Some would say I have a stool fetish. I just love so many things.

On this post, I would like to share with you a before and after of a bench that I just finished.

I purchased it at a garage sale that you can see HERE on my Week 14 Diamonds In The Rough! weekly posts. I paid a whole $4 for it!

Week 15 ~ Diamonds In The Rough!

Diamonds In The Rough! is my weekly feature, where I show you the treasures that I find from garage sales, thrift stores and antique stores.

This was a good week, besides some books and a few random teacups that I won't bother to show you, I got a bunch of good treasures.

Are you ready? Here goes...
This was only 25¢, so I got it to sell in my mall booth.
This old wheelbarrow was the steal of the day at $15. Since it is too late for me to plant flowers in...plus I will be going on another vacation and won't be here to water...I will save it for a great fall display in the yard this year. Imagine pumpkins and mums in this! That is AFTER hubby fixes it up a bit and I seal it with exterior varnish.

Refining Your Collection!

This post is for those that did not see it as my Guest Post at Valarie's Glimpse of My World blog.

Do you have a special collection? I have many and one of them is my vintage purses. It started one time when I went on a home tour and the homeowner had a wall displayed with very old vintage purses and it just grabbed my at my heart. This is how collections for me start...from the heart.

I shared with you on a previous post my wall of purses in my master bedroom...
I hung them from glass drawer knobs until I found this trellis at a garage sale...

It was only $4 and I thought it would look great out in my garden...as trellis' are made for.

But
then,

had

light-bulb
moment

I decided to use it for my purse display as I have shown you in this past post HERE.

Week 14 ~ Diamonds In The Rough!

Diamonds In The Rough! is my weekly feature, where I show you the treasures that I find from garage sales, thrift stores and antique stores.

This weekend sales were few for two reasons; Hubby was home with me on vacation and it's a holiday weekend. (Fourth of July) So we just hit a couple and called it good.

I went to one garage sale that said it was an estate sale. Usually a good sign that I can get smalls (glass items) and furniture real cheap.  That was the case with this sale.  Just look at this bench. At only $4, I didn't even want to dicker with the owner. I will be transforming this into a real beauty, real soon.
Then there was several tables of smalls (glass items). Nothing had prices, but the lady told me to pile up what I wanted and she would make me a deal. So I piled and piled and piled. I got all you see below for only $3 for the teacups, two pitchers, frame and all the glass ware!!!

My Teacup Chandy!!

Warning...

This could get long,

but stick with me to see

the most beautiful chandelier ever!

So, lets start from the beginning.  On one of my Diamonds In The Rough! garage sale finds, I purchased an old brass chandelier.

It was dirty, but each arm had two lights and it had all the crystals that came with it.  I was concerned that the wiring was old and possibly dangerous.

So I took it to a local lighting store and met a wonderful guy named Jack that rewired it in a special way... explained later in this post.
