Beaded Spoon Tassels

A new twist on what to do with old silver spoons.

I made Painted, Beaded, Tassel Decor out of them.

They are fun and unique.

This is not a tutorial

but instead, the process

that I went through to get to the final product.

First, I took an old silver spoon (I find these for pennies at garage sales and thrift stores)...
I drilled tiny holes around the edge of the spoon and painted it (them) antique white.
I then did some decorative painting on the front bowl of the spoon and sprayed them with sealer. I then bent the handles. Now you know why I use old silver spoons, they are easy to bend...
Using the holes that I drilled into the edge of the spoon, I used wire and various beads to embellish each one...
After finishing all the beading, I tied ribbon bows and now they are ready for hanging from lamp shades...
Or a pitcher...

Or anything else you can hang something fun and unique from!

I will be drawing the winner's for the giveaway prizes on Monday, so hurry and enter!

  10. I love them, what a cute idea. I love old silverware and sometimes only find a piece or two, this would be great to use on the spoons. Love the beads on the end. I can't paint, so I'll come up with something else. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration at Sunday's Best.
