Week 17 ~ Diamonds In The Rough!

Diamonds In The Rough! is my weekly feature, where I show you the treasures that I find from garage sales, thrift stores and antique stores.

This was an unusual week, Garage sales were not good again, I think because of the heat. However, my girlfriend let me come over and pre-shop her garage sale items. And a got a wonderful hutch at a thrift store.

Here goes with the treasures.

The whole bolt of Waverly fabric for $2. I used most of it to make a skirting for my booth.
And I found some furniture pieces to refinish.
This sad antique table is so damaged on top, but for $1 I can peel away the veneer and cover the top with book pages, paint the rest and it will be beautiful once again for selling in my booth.
This was a $1 chair. If I needed one to plant flowers in the seat, I would do that, but since I already have one, I will cut a board to upholster the seat and paint the chair. Another thing for my booth.
I needed shelving space in my new booth, so I picked this antique hutch up at a local thrift store. I will paint it with my chalk paint and transform it.
And some trash by the side of the road.
Can you believe that I picked up 8 of these antique corbels on the side of the road? What were they thinking throwing these away!

  3. Wow! All the china is great, also the glassware ~ love the little Scottie! And the hutch is unbelievable, can't wait to see what you do with it! The by-the-side-of-the-road find is something I'd love to find at the end of my neighbor's driveway!
