Each year, I make ornaments for my family and this year I have taken on a MacKenzie Childs look. I hope they like them.
I purchased these wooden stockings unfinished at Hobby Lobby last year...after Christmas. Then I painted them this year. Do you think I captured the essence of MacKenzie Childs?
I also made the black and white check balls too and will share with you a tutorial on that soon.
I always put the name or initial of the person it is going to, the date on front or back and my name on back.
Here are some ornaments that I made in previous years...

That is so cute...I like each of them. And what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely. I painted all my ornaments last year for my M-C knockoff tree and so enjoyed pulling out all the decorations this year. Did you use epsom salt on your checked ornament? Love it. Sunday we are going to Skaneateles for my birthday dinner and my husband said "we are half way to M-C, so do you want to go and see the farmhouse before dinner - and maybe buy a checked "thing" for your birthday?" I almost died and calmy said YES!! I think I will get the new small pedestal serving tray (I have the large on but sometimes its just too big for what I want to serve) I will think of you, BJ from Sweet Nothing and Debbie from Mountains Breath while I am there!! Too bad we couldn't all meet there someday - but then we would probably buy out the joint!!
ReplyDeleteHI Terry,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting on my Ladder Christmas Tree! Love your ornaments - yes, very Mackenzie Childs. Great job! Now following you.

I for one absolutely LOVE your ornaments....they are very near and dear to my heart!! I love the fact that the boys get completely excited when your package arrive at our house each year, although the gifts are what you would think they get most excited about it really isn't!! They love their ornaments from Terry!!! I couldn't imagine their disappointment had you ever stopped making them!! We truly appreciate the hard work, dedication, and love you put into them and we cherish them by displaying them each year on our tree or elsewhere! They have taken them to show and tell at school and are sure to show them off to everyone that comes over to our house. Thank you so much for them and the joy they bring to my babies. With love always, Amy
