Germany to America

In celebration of my ancestors, I designed my mantel to show the journey from Germany to America!
In 1910, my Great, Great Grandparents and their 5 children left Mosbach, Germany and sailed on the S.S. Lapland heading to Ellis Island in America.

At the time, my Great Grandmother was 10 years old. In this picture below, My Great Grandmother is pictured with her five children. My Grandmother is the oldest girl, so this would have been a long time later.
After they arrived, they became farmers/ranchers finally settling in Kansas.
I adore this awesome vintage globe that came on a set of Masons's columns that I recently brought back from our Kansas trip to see my son. You can see more on this post HERE.

  1. Hi Terry! Your mantel looks wonderful and I love the story of your ancestors trek to America. How fortunate you are to have all of this info. A few years back I started tracing my roots and couldn't go back very far. But after much digging and digging I have found out a lot! Love the stories too instead of just names.
    Be a sweetie,
