Feed Sack Chair

Through this past year, I have collected several old feed sacks. I have made pillows with some of them...

Covered a chair seat with them with one of them...
Even recovered a child's rocker with one of them...
Actually there are so many things you can do with them including making a lining out of them for a rolling cart...See it down in the larger picture with the pillow sticking out of it?

With all the sewing, crafts and painting that I do, my black sewing room chair was looking a bit worn, so why not make it look even more worn ~ but way cool!
These chairs are so easy to take apart and recover.
I didn't have a big enough piece to finish the back with the same feed sack so I pieced some of it together to make a large enough one.
And I purposely put the round threaded area close to the center back.
What's the doll house you say?
It covers my sewing machine when not in use. I made it years ago without using the inside flooring so it just fits over my machine. It keeps the dust off of the machine when not in use and looks sweet at the same time.

  1. I've got a desk chair just like that one that I've been meaning to recover for the last several years, and still haven't done it. I'm more inspired now that I've seen yours! I love that doll house covering your sewing machine - such a great idea!

  2. I just picked up one of these feedsacks yesterday (free at a town clean-up)and was wondering what I was going to do with it. And would you believe I have a rolling cart exactly like yours that has needed a liner for years? I love all the ways you've used them! I think this post was meant for me :) Thanks for the inspiration!
