Charming One-of-a-Kind Teapot Floor Lamp!

This is one of those transformations that turns out so fantastic, that it pains me to sell the piece!

Are you curious to find out what you are looking at?

Well, let's take a look...starting with the before!

I purchased a vintage heavy floor lamp table at our local thrift store several months ago. It looked like this...

I knew it needed some work, but thought if I sold it cheap enough in my booth, it would sell and someone else could fix it up...NOT! People seem to want to pay higher prices and get the piece finished.  Well, it sat around in my booth and never sold. So today, I brought it back home, took it apart and transformed it into this beauty...

It is so dreamy now. I just love it! Let's take a closer look at what I did. First, I painted all the gold pieces white.
Originally the piece had a round glass for a table. I took that off. It also had two glass pieces but one was broken, so I threw that away which led me to be creative to fill in the space.
Then I looked though my stash and found this teapot, sans a lid and the teacup and saucer. I drilled holes in them to allow for the rod to thread through.
I just let my creativity take over as to how to put it back together from the bottom to the top. It fit back perfectly and has so much shabby chic charm now. I am sure it will sell fast this time around!

  3. Love, love it!! Very creative, doesn't look like the same lamp for sure. I think you are right....the trend now is to find things that have already been transformed to buy. I find that women just don't seem to have the time or inclination to look for items to transform themselves. This seems foreign to me as this is the way I have lived all my married life, but nonetheless this seems to be the way it is. I'm sure your new lamp won't last long. Thanks for sharing and blessings on your day, Lindaa
