Vintage Sewing Cabinet

Wow,

 I adore

how this

 transformation

 

 came out!

At a local estate auction right around the corner from my home, I picked up this sweet sewing cabinet for $5!

The top drawer pulls out as expected, but what was unexpected was the second drawer...It is on a swivel to expose an area for threads and needles.

The top had some damage which after fixing the veneer, made me decide to just paint the body of this piece and keep the drawers in their stained natural state.

I researched this cabinet online and found that it is from this 1930's and 40's, so I split the difference and put a 35 on the top for whimsy...

It's new home for now is right next to my settee in the mud room.

It's a keeper since I do a lot of sewing which makes it special in my heart.
