Black Beauty

What to do with veneer missing from furniture?

My options are:

1. I could ignore and just paint right over the missing veneer hoping to camouflage the area.

2. I could fill in the the space of the missing veneer with wood filler then paint the whole piece.

 3. I could strip all the veneer off and sand it all down and then paint, depending on how much veneer is missing.
BEFORE
All fine options, in varying degrees of difficulty. But I didn't choose any of these...

I chose to decoupage a piece of book page in these areas to bring them out and add to the interest of the chair.
Hubby is not a fan are you?

  2. Funny ... hubby is not a fan. If you love it, then that's what counts. It won't hold up to any kind of wear and tear is your main problem. But if it is just an artful statement that will not get used as a chair, then you achieved that. As a man, you hubby probably thought some nice wood filler would work better if you were planning on using it as chair. Men... ha ha ha

Loved your last chair makeover. It's been at least 10 years since the first guy (yes, it was a guy) painted his sofa and showed it on that Home Site. It amazed everyone and has cause a chain reaction this many years later.
