Updated Guest Bathroom Reveal!

More Beadboard...

More Trim...

New Crystal Sconces...

New Granite...

New Vessel Sink...

New Delta Vessel Sink Faucet...

New Shower Curtain...

Painting of Mirror...

New Vanity Hardware...

It all equals my update of our Guest Bathroom!

It all began with the wedding of my son to his long time girlfriend in Kansas last November. We always go antiquing there when we visit, but this time we also went to some really cool shops where I found two beautiful sconces that were 75% off! I could not show you this reveal at the end of 2013 when it was done because the Holiday's came upon us all and you know how that is!
To remind you of what the bathroom looked like before...
A huge unframed mirror with bar light above. A countertop with a molded sink. Okay but not dreamy. I had put the vintage frame on the mirror with Velcro Command Strips just to take away from the look of the huge mirror. My young-and-cute-handy-dandy-handyman had already put beadboard up on the opposite wall and behind the new higher toilet and we updated it a bit by removing the gold shower door surround and gold door knobs. I guess you could call that phase 1.

Then it looked like this...
Light bar gone, mirror gone and wiring put in place for sconces, vanity top gone.

Next came the beadboard to continue to wrap the room and cover the new holes in the walls.  I borrowed this mirror from the exercise room...
However, since the sconces were brown, I had to paint the mirror from black to AS Chalk Paint in Paris Gray with an Old White dry brushing effect.
I went to a local business that cuts their own granite. I found from past experience that it is cheaper if you can find a scrap piece that you like and that will fit your needs. I chose this granite...

Knowing that I was going to keep the vanity since it fit with the house and was in very good shape, but a lower-in-height version of what is popular to today's standards...I decided to raise it up simply by using a vessel sink.
It all looks so fresh, so chic!
Of course, I had to get a ruffled shower curtain and remove the vinyl wall chandelier and put a vintage oil painting of roses in its place since I had REAL CRYSTALS on the sconces!
Hubby put these knobs on to update the vantiy further.
The opposite wall did not change from it's framed vintage 1928 French perfume ads...
Here is a picture of the ceiling that I painted clouds on years ago when we had a moody teen in the house!

Now this room fits the style of the rest of my bathrooms. Oh how I love this look!

    1. Yes there are clouds on the ceiling. Years ago when my daughter was a moody teen living at home, I decdied to paint moody clouds on the ceiling. I like them enough to keep them. I will take a better picture of that and put it on this post.

  12. Your bathroom turned out awesome Terri! I love that mirror and those sconces. Clever idea use the above counter sink rather than try to raise the counter. I'm tall, so I need the height too. Thank you for sharing it at What We Accomplished Wednesdays.

  24. Your blog is my new favorite. First thing I look at in the morning. Your talent is amazing. I paint (rooms!) but never craft. After being inspired by you, I just fished a MacKenzie Childs-like lamp table. I love it!!
