Ice Cream Chairs Transformation!

Don't you just love the look of

Feed Sacks?

Who knew that they

Would become so popular.

They bring back the simpler times...

That warms the heart.

If you remember this picture...
Of when I showed you the vintage wooden ironing board turned Welcome Sign (you can see that post HERE), that is also the first time you saw the green chair. I actually have TWO!

I first spray painted these two chairs with Rustoleum Hammered Metal paint. Then I used Annie Sloan Old White with two coats on the wooden seats.

That's when I decided to simply paint the numbers and stripes to resemble old feed sacks.
I have an 'L' shaped front porch, that I find hard to decorate...
So I broke it up with two separate seating areas...(you can see more on this red chair HERE)
#1
And now these two chairs by the door...#2

Why 1, 2, and 3? Why not!

  1. I love the chairs! The look just like real feed sacks! I didn't know the difference until you pointed it out. Great patina you achieved with the paint!

  7. Terry, I recently found a antique child's rocking chair. It has the cushion that doesn't cover the entire seat. It is so super easy to just recover and put back on but I was contemplating making a cushion fit the chair. Your chair that is similar, I saw you painted the edge around the seat to match the fabric. I am soooo going to copy off you! I hope that is okay. Love your blog.
