Boo!

Hubby and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary on July 30 by going to an upscale steak house here in Quincy, IL.
Upon walking out, Hubby noticed a kitten under the vehicle in front of ours. Hubby is a true cat whisperer! He got out and tried to coax her out but she wouldn't budge.

The restaurant had given us two cookies on our leave and I used parts of one to coax her out of a hole under the sidewalk that she was obviously living in and it worked.
We brought her home and as they say, "The rest is history" because she has melted our hearts. We named her BoodaLu and call her Boo for short. The name of the restaurant is called BoodaLu's after their two dogs, Booda and Lulu so it seemed fitting.
She was very skinny and tiny and looked to be about 8 weeks old when we found her. I took her to the Humane Society and the vet checked her and said that she was actually 4 months old but malnourished therefore small. Also, you can barely hear her meow!
They spayed her and gave her all the shots needed. Next was to another vet and we had her declawed. People say that she hit the jackpot with finding us. We think it's the other way around. She has a very easy spirit and minds well. I have taught her not to go upstairs to our bedroom areas and so far she doesn't. She roams the house and basement and loves playing with all her toys. I have taught her to sit up when I give her pieces of tiny chicken bits and in general, she just makes us laugh. Boo loves to be affectionate and is a lap cat. And believe it or not, she tolerates her baths well!

I researched on the Internet for her breed and found that she is a wirehair cat. Their personalities are awesome...and we are in love with her!

  2. She sounds like a gem! Why do you bathe her? Cats usually take very good care of their own grooming.

  5. She is boo-tiful! Sorry, couldn't resist! I know she enjoying her new home as much as you are enjoying her. We have three cats and one dog! All outside animals, but we let them in a lot!

  6. Cheers to you for adopting this homeless kitten and especially for getting her spayed. I have volunteered with animal rescue groups for years. The kittens keep coming and there just are never enough homes for them all. That's one lucky kitty.
