Logic Won Out!

First, I must say that one of the benefits that go with blogging is being able to categorize my pictures of projects and know when I did them.

Time flies and I just don't realize how much has been done until I see all the pictures and how long ago I did each one.

Now on to the reason that logic won out.

I have a favorite Purdy paint brush that I use to cut in the walls before rolling on the paint. Mine was worn out and I needed a new replacement. As I was buying one at Sherwin Williams, I found a beautiful gallon of blue/gray miss tint paint for $5.

I bought it too.

Initially, I was going to paint the feature wall in our master bathroom toilet/shower room from beige to green to match the green ceiling in the adjoining tub/sink room...

Back when my young and cute, handy dandy handyman and I gutted this room, I painted the walls Practical Beige by Sherwin Williams and the ceiling was painted a light green with the luxury of an empty room void of all fixtures.
A few years later, we redid the shower in the adjoining toilet/shower room. We didn't do this at the time we did the other room because we thought the shower was fine. As we grow older and seem to desire the finer things in life, we wanted a tiled shower and a larger one. We expanded this one out by a foot and added a light in the shower ceiling, that made a huge improvement.
Back then, I needed a towel rack and this foot-board was left in our rental house when the renter's moved out. Lucky me, I saw that it would be my new towel rack. I painted it with Annie Sloan's Old White and when I painted the wall behind it Practical Beige, it just made the Old White look yellow...my least favorite color.
So when I happened across the blue/gray miss tint paint, I wanted to paint this feature wall with it which in my mind, I would then need to paint the green ceiling in the adjoining room to match. Haven't you noticed that with projects, it also causes a domino effect and then new projects arise?

As I age, I find it harder to contort my body for painting in odd spaces. I could not get the ladder in a convenient place by the tub to be able to paint the ceiling at the crown molding. What to do?
This is where logic won out and I had less work because of it. I abandoned the idea of  the new paint, went to the basement and mixed up various paints to come up with a green that I needed and painted the feature wall green to coordinate with the ceiling.
It now looks sooooo much better with the towel rack color and when my daughter came over and saw it, she said it looked fresh and fun compared to the beige.

Green also coordinates with the accent tile in the shower, shown here in the old beige wall color.
I knew this needed done as soon as we installed the towel rack a couple of years ago, but was too tired at the time to repaint that wall, as well as too excited to get this room back in order after the installation of the new shower. This is the reason for winter at my house! All the inside honey-do's get done.

The beautiful blue/gray miss-tint will be used eventually. Either in another room, or at my daughters house, or at our rental house.
