My Winter Putz Houses!

German verb putzen, which means "to clean" or "to decorate." Mass-produced cardboard Christmas villages became popular in the US during the early and mid-20th century, while porcelain versions became popular in the later part of the century.

These two above, I hand cut and made...a lot of work, but then I won a Silhouette and found them on their site...
Now my machine cuts them out and I get all the fun of glittering them up!
I fell in love with these sweet paper and glitter houses.
Maybe they bring me back to my childhood...
The blue house in the upper right corner was a gift that came from TJ Maxx. It lights up too!

They make me smile!

  3. Hello, putzen means actually only to clean/cleaning, it does not mean to decorate at all. :) Sorry, couldn't help it. Native speaker here. :)
