Isn't this so cute, so personal for her family and no longer an eyesore!
Here is what Sonia said,
"When we bought our home, here I was faced with the same issue, our (propane) tank was so huge and so ugly, and in such a prominent spot. Such an eyesore and my eyes were always drawn to it in-spite of the pretty garden. I knew we had to do something so we made ours into a yellow submarine with our grandchildren (Will and McKenna) and cat Sylvester as silhouettes in the portholes. My husband even got into the action by adding a periscope on top after first thinking I had lost my mind."
Sonia also went on to say that she used Plaid acrylic paint and sealed it with Valspar outdoor sealer...just as I had. She also stated that it has been a couple of years and it still looks just as good as the day she finished it. So does mine. Just hose it down with water to clean off the dust from being outside.
Sonia's Hubby added a periscope. |
Now doesn't it make us wonder what other painting Sonia has done that is interesting and fun?

oh wow!! what a great idea and adorable submarine on propane tank!! love the silhouettes too, even the kitty has a spot there! hahaha thanks for sharing your friend's art!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh you girls are so creative! I always hated looking out the window at that big white thing! I thought about surrounding it with flowers and climbing roses but hubby didn't think they would grow.
ReplyDeleteI also thought about covering it with big red painted cherries so when I looked at it it would make me smile!
Hugs,
Dolly
How cute! It's like the Beatle's Yellow Submarine!!! Too, too cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother adorable propane tank! You guys are so talented.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute. I wonder if the local propane company would let someone start a business painting their tanks for people since they rent them. I doubt it but what a neat idea.

How cute! This is such a unique idea. Mine is hidden behind shrubs, but it's also rented from the gas company, so I don't think we could paint it.
ReplyDeleteI loved yours, and hers is so funny!
