Wood Lamp

Humor me here...

I love making lamps...

I love making chandeliers...

Any kind of lighting that's creative...

Maybe I've missed a calling!

I found this lamp on Wayfair... and thought it was very cool.

In my stash, I found a wooden piece that I purchased at a garage sale years ago. It was a homemade candle holder and I was always going to do make something with it. Well now was the time.

As I was mulling this around in my head, I knew I would need something that I didn't have...
A long drill bit. As God always provides, I happened upon one for $2.50 at a garage sale. So I asked hubby for his help in drilling out the wooden piece. The rest was up to me.
A bit of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint...
Then threading the wire though the drilled hole and wiring it for a bulb, topped with a rectangle shade found on clearance at Shopko, it was done!
It's a keeper! (Framed picture are my babies...Lisa 22, Charlie 31)

  7. Wiring a lamp is not that hard. We did that in the 80's... BUT it's getting a succulent looking base (like you did) and putting it all together with a great shade, too. Nice work. I have this candle chandelier that I bought at a tag sale. If I need something I can count on getting one at a tag sale, seriously. God provides through tag sales. ha ha Anyway, I don't know what to do with this candle chandelier... it has hanging crystals, too, but the rings that hold the crystals are all rusted. I started taking off the crystals so that I could put them back on but still not sure what to do with it to electrify it. any ideas? The rest of it is white. Thanks so much for always coming to my party. Your friend, Linda
