A Floor Lamp to Drool Over!

I recently did a post on this side table






Now I want to show you just how UGLY







This floor lamp started out...

When I saw this piece at a garage sale, I loved the lines of the legs and the double lights. I hated the brass table part. But I had a vision for this.

But wait, be patient with me because I must start at the real beginning.

This lamp was found in this exact condition at a local thrift store for $5. My daughter fell in love and I purchased it for her apartment. She used this lamp for over a year before this guy...

...Decided to knock it off the side table. Thanks Edgar! Yes, it crashed to the floor and the white base broke in pieces. I asked my daughter to bring me the shade and all the lamp parts to be able to reuse. (You can see the bed that I made him HERE)

Now enters this floor lamp. I took it all apart and painted it white, then blue then heavily distressed it so show both colors and the original wood tone.

In putting it together again, I realized that I needed to replace the table tray with something. So I rummaged around my lamp parts and found a vintage glass crystal lamp base. Perfect!

Now with these painted colors of white and blue along with the original brown tone showing, this shade seemed the perfect fit for this beauty.

Yes, you guessed it...

My daughter will be getting this back, only in this transformation.

I wish I could get the beauty of this paint treatment to show in pictures. It has such depth and is very striking.
