I Can't Believe I Clicked!

Are you a fan of the daily sales
                           on Decor Steals?

I am...

And I think I had a very weak moment!

But CHAIR combined with ILLINOIS got me at hello!

I can't believe that I really clicked buy and followed though because this was not a cheap item! And I believe that I need to sit in a chair before I buy...ever! Well, that still stands true...I will tell you more of the story now.
It showed up at my front door crated. Yep, I got to keep that pallet too! I will be making something out of it.
After uncrateing the box and bringing it indoors...Boo is checking out the new smells...I thought this was really well packaged and protected the chair from damage!
I love the document print on this fabric and the fact that I live in Illinois and it says that huge on the upper front back of the chair that made me click and buy.
The details are very well executed and it seems very sturdy overall.
And it looks great in the study with my 1911 book page walls.
I love the look of adding my Quincy pillow on it.
It sits okay and I must stress okay. It's not a chair that you would want to use daily and sit in for long periods of time. I don't regret the purchase because I look at it as more of a decorative piece with a lot of cool factor. Good thing my house is large enough to afford that kind of luxury.

But, I still know NOT to buy a furniture that I sit on, without actually sitting on it, to see if it fits my short stature and if it's comfy. This chair is a cool looking but expensive reminder.

  4. It really is pretty. I call that kind of furniture a " sit and visit chair". Somewhere to sit and talk and maybe have coffee but not a place to sit and relax for a long period of time. It looks really great in your home and the graphics are really pretty too.

  8. Oh I do love that chair. It was one of those bad things that had good ending right. It really does look great in your home.

  9. It looks deep enough that it may have had a separate cushion at one time. That would certainly up the comfort factor :)

  10. What a beautiful find! I love Decor Steals, but I really have to restrain myself most of the time or our condo that we downsized to, will soon be overflowing with STUFF. Not a good thing for us.

  14. Terri - don't beat yourself up. Seriously they could use that chair nook area of yours in their ads - it looks THAT perfect.

If you had ANY idea how many times I do this - you wouldn't feel so badly. I had to stop looking at DS, seriously, and a few others. And Ijust completely re-do my house with clicking - so I truly empathesize with you. It looks great, enjoy it. Yay!

  17. Even though it's not that comfortable I have to say that your chair looks quite fabulous. I can understand why you couldn't resist it. I've never done the Decor Steals thing, but I sometimes buy with my heart when thrifting and my head regrets it later. I think this kind of thing has happened to all of us. Your chair does look like it was make for that corner. Thanks so much for sharing it at Vintage Charm

  18. The chair looks perfect in your room terry, so I guess sometimes you do need to have a purchase of the heart. Maybe you'll need to sit in another chair and just gaze lovingly at your new chair. Thanks for sharing at Shabbilicious Friday. I'm delighted to be featuring your Illinios chair at tomorrow's party.
