I have been collecting glass pieces for making a Garden Art Totem from garage sales and thrift stores, plus some at antique stores. And I finally got just the right pieces and am overjoyed with the outcome. It came out much taller than I had imagined but with the sky as my ceiling, it doesn't look overly tall. First, I put it out by my cupola...See it yet?
I used epoxy to glue this together. It worked great.
But after all that, I decided that too much was going on in this area. I moved it to another area of the yard that was calmer...Now I can sit back and enjoy it's beauty.
Easy and fun to do...just collect, glue and place...can't get much easier than that!
FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ASKED ABOUT THE WIND, WE HAD A 70 MILE AN HOUR WIND STORM THAT HIT AND TOOK OUT TONS OF TREES IN OUR TOWN, BUT OUR GLASS GARDEN ART TOTEM DIDN'T MOVE ONE INCH.

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen many with a teapot on top, but that adds a whimsical touch.
Adorable! Wouldn't it be cool at a centerpiece in a water garden?!! Imagine working a tube up through it! Cool beans.

I love your totem! What a beautiful creative idea and it's such a nice addition to your garden. My first thought was the same as Ceekay's. What about the wind knocking it over? You wouldn't want that to happen after all your hard work. I would also like to know what type of glue you used to hold the pieces together.
ReplyDeleteA very creative totem for your backyard. Hope they are glued together well.
