Week 16 ~ Diamonds In The Rough!

Diamonds In The Rough! is my weekly feature, where I show you the treasures that I find from garage sales, thrift stores and antique stores.

Well, it hasn't been a weekly feature lately, has it? When it gets hot out, the garage sales seem to lessen and get lame. So I have not posted for a couple of weeks on great finds.

Hubby and I went out on Saturday and he really found something great! It was our 17th Anniversary after all! :)
Cute handmade cards! At 25¢ each, I can't make them for that!

A couple of silver pieces for my Christmas tree design.
Speaking of Christmas, who doesn't need Christmas paper, new at 75¢ each

10 yards of ribbon and some scrapbooking letters for $2.
Heavy glass items for more garden art totems.
So here comes the best find this summer in my book.  I had purchased three Cutco knives for over $209 a summer ago. These knives are so fantastic and sharp. You really have to respect them because they will cut your finger off if not careful. After using them, you don't want to use any other brand.

Hubby was looking at the items at a garage sale and comes over to me and shows me his finds. THREE CUTCO KNIVES FOR $1 EACH. Two of them are the same that I have at home, a trimmer and a paring knife!

When I got home, I got on eBay and looked at completed auctions. These knives went for over $100 for the three! That is not even the new price, so thanks hon for a great find!!!

  1. Great finds! I haven't had all that much time for garage sale-ing this summer either. I love the wrapping paper find!

  3. Wow! I got some Cutco for my first wedding . . . in 1976! Still going strong - the knives, not the marriage :p

  4. Wow, my brother manages his own Cutco office so I know how much those knives cost. That is the most insane steal EVER!

  6. Great finds!

I love it when you find a good sale where the prices are so low you know they just want to get rid of their stuff - bonus when it is great stuff that you can use.
