I am standing up and admitting that I have an addiction! But I am really sitting down.
An addiction to abused, beaten, broken and old furniture! Especially old stuff because it's usually all wood.
I don't need anymore.
I don't really want anymore. Um, maybe...
But, I can't help myself when I know what it could look like and keep it out of the landfill.
This is a good case in point. It was old, broken (but fixable) and abused. It was at its time in life where you ask is it a real antique or just vintage.
Either way, I knew it could be updated and loved yet again. I picked up some miss-tint paint from Sherwin Williams called Beach Glass. It is a very, very soft green/blue. Almost to the point of not seeing the color.
Add some coordinating fabric on the upholstered seat...
And it was then taken to my antique mall booth and sold the very same week. I just can't keep furniture in my booth!

Love the chair makeover!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great job! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful make-over on a chair that has so much character. I know what you mean about addiction. I would buy so many things if I had room : )

It certainly is therapy, isn't it - I just finished another table - keeps me sane! Your chair came out great!
ReplyDeleteA lot of people could never imagine that beat-up chair could look as fabulous as it does now you've worked your magic on it! Maybe you need to open a shop.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! The chair came out looking so charming!
ReplyDeleteMy addiction is to small tables!! LOL!
Hugs,
Deb

ReplyDeleteJoAnn
The turned legs on that baby are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe chair is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe chair came out great. It's awesome you are getting paid for your therapy, instead of paying for it!Stopping by from BNOTP.
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love the chair! It turned out great no wonder it sold so fast. I have two pieces of furniture right now in the garage just waiting to be made-over. Its just finding the time and its been so hot, not a fun place to work the garage in the heat...just as soon as our weather cools down I will be sanding and painting.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy my visits with you!
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth
I think I have that same addiction! I just found your blog and its so cute! I am your newest follower! If you ever have time come checkout mine!

Wow! What a beautiful transformation, this is! I love the soft and subtle colors...a very lovely makeover! Thanks for sharing with us and for your sweet comment on my lavender crafts. Have a wonderful evening!~Poppy
ReplyDeleteThat is such an awesome upgrade! Beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteI understand your addiction completely! It's probably good that I don't have the room, but I always feel like I'm the only person who can rescue items from thrift stores! Like, if I don't adopt it, it is going to be incinerated! The chair looks absolutely fabulous, like you performed CPR!
ReplyDeleteI can relate to your addiction for old furniture - my husband understands also since he can not get in to his garage cause its filled with old furniture. Love your chair, especially the legs - good looking legs just pull me in. Love the fabric you used. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted too!!! I have tons of it sitting in my garage and I just keep finding it. But I love salvaging it!!! I've just started blogging this past year and I'm also hooked on that now! Anyway if you have time check out my $10 dresser I revamped....and keep on collecting it looks great what you did with that chair!
