Two cool Tables!

Crazy story but true,

As hubby and I were on our way home from our daughter's new house across town, a guy was putting these two tables out on the street corner!

The curbside picker that I have known to be, had hubby stop and I asked what he was doing with them. He told me that he was moving and didn't have room for them and that I could have them. He even loaded them in the pickup!





As he was doing that, I grabbed $10 from my purse and actually had to force it in his hand. He was a young guy like my daughter (early 20's) and I knew that he could use the money.

He told me that based on the recent scandal, I should paint them...That was an understatement!

After arriving home, and looking at them closer, I realized that the bases were metal and the underside label read, "The Bombay Company"...a more expensive furniture store. I was thrilled and knew with little work, I could transform them.

After a cleanup and sanding, I simply painted them an onyx color. I left the metal bases alone.

 Soon after, I was having a garage sale (you can see in the above picture where I had set some stuff out) and since my daughter didn't want them, and they would take up too much valuable space in my antique mall booth, I put them for sale and sold them just four days later for a nice profit!
