Sports Theme Nursery

I had the privilege of getting to decorate a close friends new baby boy nursery. This is her third child, so the white dresser/changing table, baby bed and glider rocker were already in place.  With tan walls, my only direction was that it needed to be sports theme in the color of red.

My first jumping off point was to paint a night stand (above). I got this painting idea from a blog post done by Daisy Mae Belle. I knew the minute that I saw her painted nightstand that I would do something very similar since I already had one just like hers. This is another reason that blogging is so much fun...inspiration!

The lamp, football frame and baseball and football knobs all came from Hobby Lobby.
Taking my cue from the stripes on the nightstand, I painted the same red stripes on the wall above the bed.

The letters that spell out the baby's name, Jax came white from Hobby Lobby. I just covered them with sports theme scrapbooking paper.
Below the name and stripes, I added these wall art pieces and yep, you guessed it, they came from Hobby Lobby.
Going around the room, you see metal stars that she already had. All I did was spray paint them red. The drapes work perfectly, not only dress up the window, but diffuse the bright light that comes in this window. Believe it or not, the lined two colored drapes came from Wal-Mart. The brown sheers and the rods came from Bed, Bath and Beyond.
I also found the cute finials there as well.
While shopping our local thrift store, I found, new in package, these wooden baseball pegs. I knew that they would be perfect to hang the quilt from. All the bedding was found on Amazon.
The last wall has the changing table/dresser. Above it, I placed a sports theme decor in vinyl that I purchased online.
The daddy added a floating shelf above the vinyl.
And he hung a few more floating shelves in the corner.

This room looks so cute and the best part is, that short of changing out the baby bed for a bigger bed someday, it will last him for years to come!
