It's a known fact that I adore MacKenzie-Childs style, and Courtly Check is my favorite. Here I go again, painting some aluminum garage sale pieces inspired by M-C.

Terry these are just beautiful, I love the coffee pot ;)
ReplyDeleteYour on talented gal....
Smiles~
Mari
Oh, You know how I adore these! You do such a great job painting!
ReplyDeleteOh good job! I went to a home walk a few years ago and the owner had the real cake platter and dome above her cupboard. It looked like yours...but I almost can guarantee, it cost a whole lot more!!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great job! I have had an old silver cake server setting in my booth forever, I should try painting it since it won't sell as is...Thanks for the great idea!!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Oh my gosh, Terry, your pieces are adorable! What a wonderful talent you have in repurposing the old into something so gorgeous. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWow! These are gorgeous. And MKC are so expensive so I know you save a lot this way and still get the look...Christine
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Terry!
ReplyDeleteWonderful job on these pieces! Wow! You are one talented lady! Love the area in the middle of the tea pot with the flowers - so pretty! Catherine
ReplyDeleteWow, those are adorable, Terry! I really like the cake carrier...
ReplyDeleteIf I don't have a stencil, then I don't have the skill for something like this. Not to mention that I barely have the skill, and mainly patience, with a stencil! LOL! I seen an aluminum cake cover at a flea market not long ago and thought of you!
ReplyDeleteYou've done it again! Super cute, I love the galvanized metal band with the rosebuds!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Wow, you did an amazing job with both of those pieces, but then you are a super talented painter and designer so I'm not surprised they look better that actual MacKenzie-Childs pieces!
ReplyDeleteTell me, are they food safe or just for decoration? I'm wondering if you used the coffee pot for it's intended purposes, if the heat would peel the paint off? You could probably put a plate inside the cake carrier and it would be perfectly fine to use around food. Nicely done on both pieces!
Oh love them all!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful. I have a cake carrier that I would love to have painted like that! Do you have a tutorial? While I can't paint, I could get my Mom to paint it for me!
ReplyDeleteGood job. I thought it was McKenzie-Childs.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Terry! This is one of my favorite patterns, too. You've certainly given new life to these pieces!
ReplyDeleteI love MC too! Very creative use of the check pattern on your vintage finds.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! You are a very talented painter!
ReplyDeleteI go crazy when I go to MC. My husband doesn't like to take me too often. I have never tried to paint anything in MC pattern. You are inspiring me. I'm sure they won't look like yours. They are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever been to MC in upstate NY? She has a house that is completely done in MC stuff. It is awesome. It has been years since I have been there, but on certain days you can have tea there.
Have a great week,
Bev
@ Eclectic Red Barn
I love it! You are talented! You did a great job on your art work! I like MC products but their prices are a little scary!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to do this to some of the silver pieces I bought inexpensively that had damage to the finish. Love seeing how absolutely adorable yours are with the little green accent border and flowers. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLiz @ Quirky Vistas
You did such an amazing job on these pieces. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing at DIYbyDesign.
ReplyDeletewow...love the cake cover! I have a similar one I painted an aged white a year or so ago, but I'm going to have to try to copy yours! lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love Mackenzie Childs style too. Your painted pieces really capture the look. Do you have a tutorial on your site to give me some hints about painting on metal? I'll have to look around to see. Maybe you have inspired me.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job painting these. They are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYup, I knew this was your link at the party before I even clicked on it - beautiful job Terry!
ReplyDeleteOH WOW Terry!!!! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this at The DIY Dreamer… From Dream To Reality! I’m looking forward to seeing your next creation tomorrow evening!
You are super talented. I will be featuring this tonight at my Swing into Spring party that opens tonight at 8pm EST. Please stop by and pick up an I've Been Featured button. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh these are adorable Terry! I love McKenzie childs. That cake pan is so stinking cute!! I will be featuring it as soon as I get my post up tonight. Thank you for sharing it at to What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deborah
