I am very drawn to these types of shelving units.
I realize that these are Victorian and my style of decorating is certainly not Victorian.
But it's the romance of the curves...
And the spindles that gets me every time!
This was ripe for the picking at a garage sale last weekend. Pay close attention to the feet...Wrong!
Someone had tried to fix them with wood balls. The wood had seen better days and I knew that since I was going to paint this piece, I could come up with better feet.
Curtain finials...
Much better I think. She is finished and oh so pretty and petite...
Here is a reminder of a corner one that I did and kept for my home...in my mud room!
This one though is for sale...like everything else in my life!

Oh the shelving unit turned out so good. I love these shelves. I always think they have a dainty feel to them. This one, now in a light color really is pretty! You do such nice work.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

I don't think I have ever seen one of those shelves. They look fun for decorating, but a lot of work to paint.
ReplyDeleteLove the color ~ Awesome job especially with the new feet :)
ReplyDeleteI think I will look at Victorian shelves in a different light now. Painting them certainly makes them look better.
ReplyDelete*Smiles*
Nice job on the shelving!
ReplyDeleteHey--I just noticed your new profile pic!
Really nice--Catherine
Beautiful! Love the new feet!!
ReplyDeleteGreat transformation! Perfect and romantic - and less formal :) Great job!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Australia♥ ~Pernilla
I love it! I flip flop back and forth between a love of cluttered Victorian and sparse farmhouse. When will it end? The world may never know.
ReplyDeleteFAbulous piece, so ornate. Great redo. Thanks for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I would buy this.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I like how it turned out. I have a similar set of shelves that need spruced up. You've given me some inspiration.:>)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Terry! I love pieces like this, too. While I don't usually buy them I wind up standing and admiring them for a few minutes. Mostly because I don't have anywhere to put one in my own home. Although, I would love to find one I can paint over and put in my booth.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty piece and you certainly brought it back to life!
ReplyDeleteI love your work! I found you over at Savvy Southern Style and I'm glad I did.
ReplyDeleteMarie@InteriorFrugalista
I love them. They look so much better painted!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! I especially love, corner shelf units.

This is such a great piece! Do you know much stuff I could load on there?! Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou did a gorgeous job. Mud room, huh? I'm going to have to go rethink a few things!
Love it!
Hugs,
Patti
So pretty! The white makes the details pop!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the shelf Terry! I love it in white. The new feet are perfect. Thank you for sharing at What We Accomplished Wednesdays.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deborah
