Hubby had a conference four hours away in Kansas City. I rode along just to visit my new best friend!
I am talking about a furniture and decor store called Nell Hill's! It is just so fabulous that they allowed me to take pictures so I can share them with you.
Mary Carol Garrity opened this store in Atchison, Kansas and now has opened a new 16,000 sq. ft. store in Kansas City. This is the one that I went to. Nell Hill's has a blog, and a website! You just have to see this! I am so in love!
What do you get out of this tour...Tons of ideas and in such beautiful surroundings!
This post is picture heavy, so I will limit my comments. Go get something to drink and sit back and enjoy the shopping trip...be sure to look for all the ideas to steal!!!
Come on in! We have a lot of space to cover...
Everything you see is for sale. Some at high end prices and then you will find many fantastic things that are extremely affordable!
We loved this glass door cabinet but it was over $6,000.
Isn't this light fixture so totally cool? Easily made with a huge wooden tray!
Another favorite...a rug upholstered bench. Notice the rolled up pages in the oval bowl.
I know you are looking at the chandelier, but notice the sweet mercury glass candle stand on the fireplace mantel...two of those came home with me.
This chair was lovely but boy was it huge! That's hubby sitting in it for size!
Idea steal...a small basket full of book pages inside a lantern!
Loved the look of the empty chalkboard behind the clock on the mantel.
Idea Steal...an antler wrapped around a candle in the lantern.
Loved this industrial table and stools.
Idea Steal...small books stacked inside a large lantern.
Great for fall and winter, plaid wrapped books.
Idea Steal...open books used as chargers under plates.
It's hard to see, the ribbon running down this chandy has red writing that begins with Dear Santa. A roll came home with me!
Let's go upstairs...Bedroom vignettes and tons of beautiful fabrics. Buy the fabric and make it yourself or they will custom make it for you!
Idea Steal...My sharpie and I will be becoming really good friends making a cup like this!
If you enjoyed this shop as much as I did, you can follow them on their blog, http://www.nellhillsblog.com/

ReplyDeleteTerry, I love Nell Hill's blog; and this store is just the icing on the cake! There is so much eye-candy here that I am going to have to go back and take a second look! So many great ideas here! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOne could get lost in that great shop.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the tour and can't wait to see what you do with your purchases. Going to check out the Nell Hill blog next. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous that you got to go there. I've always wanted to. When we lived in Oklahoma I actually Mapquested to see how far away it was....really it was too much to go to a store. :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have her books from a few years ago? I love them all.
Thanks for updated pictures. I haven't been there for a year, and it was nice to see what she has going for Fall 2013. The Atchison store is great also! Sally
ReplyDeleteI've been to her Kansas City shop a couple of times and once to her open house at her home in Atchison. It was over the top beautiful all decorated for the holidays. Thanks for the photos. They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, thanks for the tour. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteDid you know her Fall Open house is next weekend, Sept. 6 and 7 in Atchison, KS? She opens her very own historic Greek Revival home to the public, and it will be completely decked out for the season. I'll be there and then it's off to go shopping at her store. Stop by my blog next weekend for photos!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a place I could get lost in and spend a lot of money. I have heard of Nell's Hill, Not one where I live. Thanks for sharing the tour. Karie
ReplyDeleteI'm a Nell Hill's fan myself. Although I no longer live in Kansas City, it's my hometown and I'm often there to visit much of my family who still live there. I love both her KC store and the Atchison store! If you are ever in KC you should go to the West Bottoms area to take in all the vintage stores in large warehouses in that area. It's a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking us along on your fun shopping trip! We are a loooooong way from there, but I still love her blog and the fact that you can order many things online. Now I feel like I have been in the store through your post!
ReplyDeleteGreat tour and I can't wait to see the next one. I would love to go there some day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this tour. I love Nell Hill. So many ideas to borrow.
ReplyDeleteWow, thank you for sharing the tour! I don't live anywhere close enough to go to the store. They used to have a web site with things for sale but they dropped it at the beginning of this year. I know I would go bonkers in there and definitely couldn't walk out empty handed! Your mercury glass candlestick holders will be a favorite I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite stores in the whole world, ever! I used to live there and made the trek to Atchison regularly. Thanks for giving us a taste of what's going on at the KC store now!
ReplyDeleteI love Nell Hill, I've been to the Atchison store, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Looks like an awesome store!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite coffee table book is Nell Hill's Style at Home by Garrity, Mary Carol. My library allows me to check out a book for three weeks and renew it three times. I found it early this year and have turned it back in and checked it out again. I think I'm going to have to look for a copy and purchase it. Thanks for the info about her stores and blog... Patricia Ann
ReplyDeleteloved taking this tour.. so many beautiful ideas to do our personal rendition of..
