This Little Table of Mine!

There Is Something

About Old Vintage

Fern Stand Tables

That Speak To Me

...And this one in no exception!

This is what I started with, a table top and four legs in much need a L-O-V-E. You all know what I am talking about, right?

Do you see what is missing? Yes, the board that would hold the legs apart in their proper distance. I crawled up into the attic above the hobby garage to see if I had a board. As luck would have it, with my 'hoardness' up there, I found a square routed piece of walnut...too nice for this but I used it anyway!

On Mother's Day, Hubby gave me himself to use for the day! The best kind of gift. I asked him to attach the board to the legs, but first we had to go to the hardware store and buy a jig. This Kreg Jig Mini Kit was $20, but it allows for pre drilling of the proper angled counter-sunk holes for this application. And it was simple and perfect.  We will use this jig a lot.
I got out my Annie Sloan Old White Chalk paint along with French Linen, my two favorite colors and painted, distressed then waxed this piece back into service!
Now it is at home in my living room!

On a side note, I thought I would show you two pictures of my new granddaughter, Isla (Eye-La) Rose. Here at 12 days old taken by a professional photographer.

And now at one month old...
Holding up her first finger to let you know she is now one month old...isn't she so smart?

  8. I really like the stripe paint job. I just saw something similar on a bench and I think I am going to have to steal the idea. :) I have never seen a picture of the countersink jig before, so great tip. It is a great transformation! Thanks for sharing at knick of Time link. kim @ huntand host
