Inspired Sign!

I have this blog to, not only show you transformations,

But to INSPIRE you!

Because YOU can do it too!

Recently, I was inspired by Claire at The Rustic Pig with her ironing board Welcome sign.

All I really needed was an old ironing board. So I patiently waited for one to come across my path.

GOD always provides!

This was a really quick and simple project with a WOW result. I simply cleaned and then painted the ironing board black. I used my Silhouette machine to cut out letters for the word. I wanted the letters to look like they were written in chalk, so I used a font that would be easy to paint with a single brush stroke and with a rather dry paintbrush.
When the paint was dry, I brushed on a coat of sealer and added a green burlap bow.
And staged the picture with volunteer snap dragons left by the birds in an old enameled pot my son gave me the last time I was visiting him.

  2. Love the font on your WELCOME sign ... great job. Looks so good on your porch. Love your pineapple below and the pretty flowers. I have a real nice wooden ironing board, but reluctant to paint it. The big label is still on it, so hate to destroy that. Maybe I could just hang a welcome sign on it. Thanks for the inspirations. Found you at Revi's fun party.

  3. I too love the font. What a fabulous idea. I would have never thought of this. It pulls the whole porch together which is lovely too, btw.
