The story of these
two night stands
is quite weird.
Initially, the one on the right was purchased at a garage sale. I can't keep these in my mall booth, they sell fast, but I was going to paint this one for my daughter's bedroom in her new house. This is what it looked like when I got it...
Before I even got a chance to paint it, I happened upon a thrift store giving away everything inside because they had to move out. What was holding the door open? You got it, a night stand...
This one, though it looks bad, was in great condition as far as sturdiness goes and the skirting at the bottom just spoke to me. Why? Because I remembered my daughter's dresser has the same look at the bottom leg area! So THIS one would be painted for my daughter instead.
Daughter's dresser |
She wanted me to paint it Onyx which is a color that I had painted two night stands for a client last year and luckily, I had some paint left over. (NOTE: many people have asked what paint was used, it is called Deep Onyx by Sherwin Williams, Color to Go) So instead of painting just one night stand, I painted both today and I will be able to sell one in my booth. Here are more details...
Those favorite skirted legs! |
I purchased new hardware for my daughters and spray painted it a gray hammered metal |
I used the same hardware for the one for sale, but spray painted it to better go with its new color! |
