I purchased these precious German Bibles at a local thrift store.
What struck me about them was not that I too have a German heritage, but they matched, however the smaller (female) version was inscribed with the name,
Frieda U. Siemers, 1906
And the larger (male) version did not have an inscription, but instead had his name beautifully penned inside, Mr. Henry Siemers.
Imagine how I dreamed of a tale of how these two, husband and wife, came to have these bibles! I let my mind wonder as I looked through them, until I spotted something!
A true surprise...
Yes, both of them had a pressed four leaf clover inside the pages.

His was large...like his bible.
Her's was small and petite...like her bible!
Was it right for me to borrow them from their precious books? Well, I did...
just for this St. Patrick's Day.
I printed out some subway art last year, that I had framed. All I did was open the frame, and lay these two lucky four leaf clovers on top and now it just warms my heart.
And maybe, just maybe it may bring me loads of good luck!

Great! That was absolutely awesome.=D
ReplyDeleteI was just given an old Children's bible and found two 4 leaf clovers pressed inside. I was wondering if they had and particular meaning other than good luck. I have two children and after seeing what you did I think I may frame ours and give one to each child.
