The fun decorating continues...
This time with my granddaughter's bedroom.
They rent this home, so we were limited with how creative we could be with the walls.
This is looking in the room from the doorway...
I painted the old dresser since it was the perfect height for a changing station. The lower drawer was twisted and not functional so I put a shelf in the bottom.
The cute framed wire flower with hooks came from Gordman's and was the perfect color and compliments to this space while being useful for her jackets/etc.
I painted this white dresser years ago and no longer needed it. Isla (Eye-La) now has it in her room. The mirror is a garage sale find and my daughter painted it a peachy pink. The lamp is from Gordman's and her Daddy made the cute wooden tote. I painted the rocking chair and my daughter made the green ball tassel curtains.
The La-Z-boy rocker/recliner has certainly came in handy. We decided to do a collage wall in this corner. We will be able to add to it as time goes by.
The arrow and Let Love Grow sign came from Hobby Lobby. The two smaller canvases were painted by my daughter in the colors that match the material from the bedding that I made. You can see all of that HERE if you want.
The empty black frame opens up on hinges and will be used for artwork when Isla gets older and starts to color. I cross-stitched the bear sampler years ago and she plans on taking the mat out of the frame and painting it a more peach color. The floral wall art came from Hobby Lobby and I just made the cute circle name piece with my Silhouette.
My granddaughter's name is Isla Rose Jennings. So I designed this for her.
What a fun little project it was.
Here she is while I was taking pictures. She just turned one and is walking around getting into everything! Can everyone say FREEDOM?
When I purchased the ladder for the kitchen, HERE, I also bought a smaller one for all of Isla's blankets. We have not finished the wall above her crib so I didn't take any more pictures. It will all happen in time. However, for now we have decided to just add the banner above the bed that I purchased at Hobby Lobby and painted the ONE for her first birthday party...
The ONE is just blue vinyl letters purchased at Staples, then I painted on top of the vinyl with white acrylic paint to add whimsy...That way, when the party was over, we just peeled off the vinyl letters and the banner was still good to use. The practical side in me strikes again. I also made the tissue paper balls for her party and now they hang in her room.
Notice the clear rubber on top of the crib rails. This can be purchased at Babies R Us and it is protecting the bed from Isla biting on it and leaving marks. This bed will convert to a full size when she is ready for that. For now, it is very a functional and cute room with two bright windows and plenty of space.
