My young-and-cute-handy-dandy-handyman and I tiled the back splash with smaller white subway tile and a black pencil trim tile to tie it to the black of the counter-tops! What a difference...
I had fun when I originally hand painted the red tile back splash, but this white it so timeless and much brighter. I will be sharing with you on how we did this tile job in another post.
I also made matching valances that are the same style as the ones I made for the bay window in the dining room. I will share a separate post on the valances...past to present...and a failure! Yes, I make mistakes too!
I have touches of red decor left over so I will still use it to interject color in this space...
What I find amazing is how much better the stainless steel appliances look with this color gray.
Here is the color code from Sherwin Williams again...
Notice how the 'stuff' on the walls shows up much better with this lighter color. And I am forgoing a round rug under the butcher block this time around.
These two rooms flow beautifully and I couldn't be more pleased with this make-over. You can see the post on the dining room HERE.
What a dramatic change this is!

Wow Terry, your kitchen makeover is fabulous as is the dining room! I love red, but this is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is awesome! Love, love, love the color. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous makeover! We are finishing our basement and I am doing the kitchen with white cabinets. Of course it won't be as big as this, but pretty good size still. I want to paint a few of the rooms grey. I have been looking at paint chips but hadn't decided. I love this color and I think it's just what I'm looking for. Love your pops of black and red. Really stunning! Happy that I found you from Adorned from above. Now following. I have a link party, Share Your Cup Thursday. I would love if you shared.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
