Grandma's Tureen

I must admit, I have been coveting something for a long time! I know it's wrong to do that, but quite unexpectedly, I was presented it! What is it? That's right, it's Grandma's Tureen.

Every time Hubby and I would go to visit his sweet Grandma, I would see it on a shelf and it just seemed to call to me...Just look at that shape and who doesn't love white?
The story of this little tureen is simple. It was Hubby's Grandma's Mothers. She passed away in 2000 just before she turned 102!
It was then handed down to her daughter, Hubby's Grandma, so I figured that Hubby's Aunt would be next in line to get it.

But, on this lovely day, Hubby's sweet Grandma said that her daughter did not want it and so she gave it to me...to cherish! Thanks Grandma!

  3. A gorgeous family heirloom! (The Feedburner thing is working fine.)

  4. So very pretty...do you have an idea of how old it is?...and whatever the feedburner is, your new post photo showed up on my blog after many months of being frozen!

  5. Oh, what a beautiful tureen! I'm so glad you were able to get this into your dainty little fingers! I see you're going to enjoy it so much and putting together vignettes! :)
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  6. Lucky you! Love the white tureen! I've been enjoying catching up on some of your past posts today. Love all the ways you've been using your extra bricks. I, too, would love to have fishscales on part of my house! And that bridge lamp is wonderful. I almost bought an Edison filiament bulb at Lowe's last week ~ now I've got to go back and get one and put it in....something!! :0)
