A Tufted Beauty!

Meet the new stool in my life!

This one is full of charm, like most of them are, however, this one is tufted and oh so soft.

I first met this gal at a summer garage sale. She spoke to me when I passed her, but I paid little attention. I was on the hunt for something else.

Then, I looked down and saw her...

She was ripped and tired of her overcoat and she was even broken underneath. I scooped her up and said not to worry, that I could make her happy again.

It's been a long time since I did tufting, but knew this would be right for her. I asked hubby to cut her a new seat out of wood (the original was cardboard and that is what was broken), then she just sat unloved. I had so many other irons in the fire and I knew that she would make a better winter project.

Some document fabric, and black and white check fabric, that I am known for, is all it took. That is, after I used several coats of different colors of chalk paint on her. I wanted her very distressed and beautifully shabby.

She is all smiles now!
