Burlap Roses

Just a quick little diversion from a harder project that I was working on!

Let me explain. I was working on making a chair slipcover that was challenging. Sometimes when I get overwhelmed and need a break but not from creativity, I do a simple little project...feel like I accomplished something and can resume the challenge before me at hand.

That is the case with this little lamp shade. It is a cute lamp that I purchased like this...
I thought a bit of embellishment would go a long way. Out came the burlap and the rest is, let's just say Roses!
Make 'em. Hot glue them on!

It needed something more so I made the leaf and added it.
Such an easy 15 minute project that anyone can do. In it's new location, it looks divine!

Some of you may want to see that little bench/table that I painted several years back. You can only get a hint of it in the first picture above, but HERE are more details of it in this post.
And now here is some crazy that most of us in the Midwest experienced...What Spring?

  1. I'm the same way - if I'm working on a difficult project, or shipping a bunch of orders until my mind feels like bubble wrap, I take a break and work on a smaller, easier project that gives me more pleasure and sense of accomplishment. Your lamp looks adorable! Sick of the snow, aren't we?!!!
