Cutest Pink Baby Shower! Part 1

You might be asking yourself...

Where has Terry been from Forever Decorating?
She just is not posting as much!

Well, I am here to tell you that I have
been quite busy...

When I found out that I was going to be
a Grandma, I patiently waited until my
daughter was 22 weeks along to find out the sex of the baby...

Then started making the cutest PINK shower decor that I could think of!

I am breaking it up in two posts since there is much to share. This is my daughter, Lisa and she has 4 weeks left at this point. Believe me, she is ready!

The framed clothing is a dress that my sister made for my daughter when she was born. The smaller frame has  the matching booties that she also made and other personal items that were Lisa's from babyhood, like a lock of her hair and her spoon, etc.

Let's start with the planning of the Guest Sign-In Table. I used a long 8 foot table.
Instead of a baby book to use as sign-in, I opted to buy this book from Amazon and use it to have the guests sign their names on random pages. This was my daughter's favorite author while young and there are many 'white spaces' on the pages to allow for names. This way, when she reads the book to her daughter, she will be able to tell her about the wonderful baby shower in her honor.

Next in line was a guessing game. I used a jar meant for cut flowers. I filled it with chocolate Kisses and was sure to count them. I wrote the amount on a tiny piece of folded paper and taped it to the bottom so when it came time to play, I would not forget the amount of Kisses in the jar. The winner was awarded the jar of Kisses. The empty ribboned jar was for the guesses. There was also a jar of pink pens for guests to use for this and the next 'station'.

Next was empty envelopes for guests to fill out their name and address. This would simplify it for my daughter when she is sending Thank You cards. I really don't understand people that don't send out thank you cards after wedding and shower gifts are given. I remember that person more for NOT sending out thank yous (and not in a good way) than what I even gave as a gift, don't you?

Last on this table was another game that gave direction on how to play and made available the small clothes pins with pink ribbon added for use. The little baby doll was the first doll that my sister gave to my daughter upon her birth and I kept it for her all these years.
I also made three of these ribbon corsages, one that said Grandma for me, one that said Mommy for my daughter, and one that said Great-Great Grandma for my husbands Grandma! She is 93! Simple to make, a wide ribbon looped and a smaller "It's a girl" ribbon. I fashioned a tiny diaper from a cut up t-shirt and safety pin, then used a punch to cut out the printed names from my printer. I hand sewed on a broach pin back enabling them to just pin to our clothing.

The shower was in a large room at my church. There is an area at the back with three couches and a fireplace. I chose to simply decorate the mantel with a cute framed cross-stitch picture that I had made years ago. My daughter had wanted it for the baby's room. I also made a cute banner that says, Sugar & Spice!

few framed of pictures of the parents-to-be were added around the room...

You can see that both parents-to-be look alarmingly alike as babies. Daddy is a twin to a girl that my daughter looks like as a baby. With this information and a 3D ultrasound picture, I pretty much know what she will look like so I have asked my daughter not to tell me the name they chose until she is born! Got to have some surprise!

More on the shower in Part II coming...
93 year old Great-Great Grandma, Mommy and Grandma (me) for this new arrival!
