What can I say, we are collectors!
We collect so many things and you know you need three or more for it to be called a collection.
That is what happened when my hubby got the desire to collect old typewriters.
Most are kept in the media room...let's face it, it is really his domain since the rest of the house is mine!
Seems like an even trade to me!
These are two that have crept upstairs...
Hubby loves to restore them from their rust and neglect...
And the smaller one here was owned and used by hubby's grandfather in college. Who later was like a "Radar" from MASH TV show but in WWII.
When I came across these burlap typewriter key pillows, I think online at Pick Your Plum...
I knew they were perfect for the love seat in the media room.
Luckily, we have the same initials...
And he collects adding machines...
Collections everywhere...

Terry, everything is displayed so beautifully. That's really special that he has a family piece too. When cleaning out a closet in my in laws house my daughter was helping clean off the top shelf and found a black case. We opened it and it was my mother in laws typewriter from high school. You would have thought she won the lottery by the look on her face. She displays it proudly on her desk in her home office.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE vintage typewriters and have a few of them myself, including one like your gorgeous Royal with glass on the sides. Thanks so much for sharing your collection at Talk of the Town.
ReplyDeleteI am SO afraid of purchasing a vintage typewriter because I'm pretty sure it'd lead to another collection. ;) Thanks for linking up to Talk of the Town!

Your typewriter collection is wonderful Terry. How great for your hubby to have one owned by his grandfather. We have a few oldies and we love them. Those pillows are fabulous too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your beautiful collection of vintage typewriters. Thanks so much for sharing them with us at Talk of the Town.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting collection - makes me remember my Grandmother's old Royal typewriter! Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Janet
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm in LUV with that skeletal-looking portable one! I still want to steal from you/him btw!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Terry--at least his collections are "small!" Unlike my furniture, mirrors, frames, silver, china, clocks.....the list is looooooong! ; D

Oh my gosh, I'm drooling over all these gorgeous typewriters!
ReplyDeleteHi Terry! Just popping back in to say thanks so much for sharing your amazing typewriter collection at Vintage Charm. It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love your collection of typewriters! I finally bought a vintage one about a month ago and am so excited! I've admired them for years! And I really enjoyed seeing how you displayed the collection, very unique and attractive! What a treasure that one is a family piece! Thanks for sharing these! ~Rhonda
ReplyDeleteThose typewriters are a fantastic collection! I love how you tied in the pillows with the typewriter font on them. Everything in your room looks orderly and a wonderful space to read, write, or just plain get cozy. This is the first time I've been to your blog and I can say I can't wait to follow your creative projects! Sue@betwixthomeandschool.com
