Quick Change Beauty!

Do you ever feel like a Quick Change?

One that will make an impact that is pretty, easy and with 'stuff' that you already have on hand.

That is the case with this fun project. I was admiring my newly painted master bedroom (you can see more on that HERE), and I decided that it was time for a bit more change. I have a vintage oval frame from a garage sale that I painted white and added my late grandmother's hankie collection to for display.

I took all the hankies off and what was left was the three wires that I had strung across the back of the frame and wrapped with ribbon. The hankies had been tied to these wires with ribbon.
I then remembered that I had picked up a beautiful, very old table runner. I had never done anything with it because it was too awesome to cut up for pillows, but too damaged for me to display as intended.
I hand washed and ironed it, and I decided to fold it in a way that would show off the details plus at the same time, hide the flaws of old age (holes).
It's a nice change and so delicate and pretty, yet perfect for my master bedroom wall. Anything you want can be wall art, don't you think?

  4. I love it, loved it with the hankies and now love it with the linen. It really was a great way to use a beautiful linen and "hide" the stains so many of ours have. Great re-purpose. So very pretty, beautiful lace. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration over at Sunday's Best.

  6. What a beautiful table runner! I love how you've displayed it, but I bet it was hard to decide to take down the hankies. I looked back at your bedroom redo and was happy to see your color choice. I just painted my spare room a warm brown and am using white. I noticed your purse collection, and love the display trellis. That's a great way to display them. I have a collection of the mesh art deco purses that I collected in my 20's, they've been packed away for 20 years. I just might get them out. I'm following.

  11. I love how you displayed the beautiful table runner. I have an oval frame similar to yours in a bedroom painted with almost the same wall color. I put one of my mother-in-laws crocheted doilies in my frame. We must like the same things!
